A restore did not bring everything back
A backup holds what existed when it was made. Anything logged after it was never in it.
A restore puts back what the backup contained, which is a snapshot of the moment it was made rather than a live copy. Anything logged after that point was never in the file.
The usual causes
- The backup is older than the entries you are looking for
- A newer backup exists and an older one was the one restored
- The entries were made on a device that was not in step with this one
If you still have the phone those records were on, making a fresh backup there and restoring that one is the way to get the newest version.
If you are unsure which backup is the newest, make one of the current phone before restoring anything. Then nothing depends on getting it right first time.
