Categories and labels

A category is what something was. A label is what it was for.

Every entry has one category, and it answers what the money went on: food, transport, rent. The report groups by them, biggest first, which is where most of a month's answer sits.

Labels are the other cut

A label crosses categories. A trip has food in it, and transport, and somewhere to sleep, and one label pulls all of it back out of the month as a single line. So does a project, a move, or a month of something unusual.

  • Categories are unlimited on both plans, and you name them yourself
  • Labels are limited to 3 on the free plan and unlimited on Premium

Name categories what you actually call them. Coffee is more use to you than Food and beverage, and nobody else reads them.
